Sounders Women take on Issaquah Gunners at Starfire on Saturday June 4th

The Sounders Women head into game number 2 this weekend in the 2016 WPSL season facing the Issaquah Gunners who currently sit tied for first in the division with 4 points. A win from the Sounders Women would launch them past Issaquah and Eugene in the WPSL Northwest Division standings.  The game will be played at Starfire Stadium at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 4th.

Issaquah is led by Macy Jo Harrison who currently has 4 goals and 1 assist to lead the team with Kristin Hayman and Kelsey Passaglia contributing a goal apiece. Passaglia also has an assist on the season.  The Gunners dismantled NSGSC on May 28th 6-0, then turned around and tied the same team in a double header weekend 3-3.  Issaquah will be looking to take control of the division in the battle of unbeaten teams.

The Sounders Women got off to a fast start in the WPSL with a 3-0 win against NSGSC on May 22nd. Kaycie Tillman scored early with Becca Candler and Kelli Sullivan each scoring their first goals of the season.  Cassie Miller was stellar in goal on the team’s preseason trip to Kansas City and her form continued into the game keeping a clean sheet.

The game this Saturday pits two of the early season favorites to win the WPSL Northwest Division and the game is sure to please the fans with exciting, attacking play from two of the top teams in the WPSL.
