Sounders Women remain unbeaten after Oregon trip, play OSA tomorrow
The Sounders Women made the long trip to Portland, Oregon to play Westside Metros and CU Diamonds over the June 24th and June 25th weekend. With two more wins in these games, the Sounders Women sit on the top spot in the WPSL Northwest Division.
On Friday, June 24th, the Sounders Women handed Westside Metros a thrashing with a 10-1 score line. Natalia Kuikka continued her dominant play in the WPSL with five goals. Samantha Kokaska recorded two goals with Izzy Butterfield, Dom Bond-Fiasza, and Stephanie Spiekerman also tallying goals for the ladies in Rave Green.
On Saturday, after a quick regeneration and limited substitutions, the Sounders Women beat the CU Diamonds 1-0 for their 7th win of the season with zero losses. Kaycie Tillman scored the lone goal to keep the women perfect on the 2016 season.
The Sounders Women play OSA Tuesday night at 6:30pm at Starfire Stadium in what could be the deciding battle for the right to represent the WPSL Northwest Division in the playoffs. OSA is coached by Malia Arrant, a former Sounders Women player, and the roster for OSA is littered with players that have spent time with the Sounders Women. This contest will not disappoint. OSA is coming off of a tie versus the CU Diamonds and a win over Westside Metros.
Kick Tuesday is at 6:30pm at Starfire Stadium. Tickets and information can be found at www.sounderswomen.com.
